Construction Paper Masterpiece – Sheréa VéJauan
My daughter gave me a masterpiece
That she drew with her tiny little hands
She used all the colors in her crayon box
To draw this lady and this man
She said, “This is my mommy and beside her is my dad,
He is the best Father a girl could ever have”
I said to her softly, “Baby are you confused”
You see her dad, she’s never seen before
He drank a little too much booze
She said, “Oh no I’m not confused mommy, I see my dad everyday
I talk to Him every morning, Every time I pray
He listens to my heart,
and answers all my requests
I asked Him to keep you strong,
So you’ll be at your best
I told Him about how hard you worked
And how you cry at night when you’re sad
He told me to let you know,
If you need him too. He will also be your Dad”
